On April 6th, Zimbabwe President Mnangagwa attended China (Zhejiang) – Zimbabwe Business Forum in Hangzhou, accompanied by over 100 delegates consisting of several ministers and many private sector executives. Vice Governor Zhu Congjiu and over 120 Zhejiang business representatives joined the forum.
“Zimbabwe’s vision to become a middle income country by 2030 is in line with President Xi’s vision of a shared future for humanity”, President Mnangagwa mentioned in his keynote address, “There are immense prospects and possibilities now and into the future for accelerated growth and development”. The vital message driven home by President Mnangagwa to Zhejiang businessmen is a resounding one, “Zimbabwe is open for business”.
Vice Governor Zhu Congjiu said that Zhejiang boasts a well-developed open economy, booming information economy and strong private sector. The full potential between Zhejiang and Zimbabwe in infrastructure, mining, agriculture and manufacturing is yet to be tapped. Government and businesses should work jointly to deliver more fruitful outcomes.
Director-General Sheng Qiuping and Deputy Director-General Hu Weikang of Zhejiang Department of Commerce moderated the forum respectively.
