Lisbon — The Angolan ambassador to Portugal José Marcos Barrica Thursday in Lisbon, Portugal, praised the role being played by China in the reconstruction of the country.
The diplomat who was speaking to an audience of Portuguese businesspeople, said the cooperation with China will continue.
Addressing a meeting on "Angola: New development paths" sponsored by the "International Club of Portugal", Marcos Barrica said despite some criticism over human rights violations, China is today the partner of all and no one lives without the Asian country.
He on the occasion said that anyone willing to invest in Angola is free to do so, provided that the country's laws are observed.
As to China, he recalled that the Asian nation, promptly stood by Angola at a time the country was going through a "crucial and distressing" moment and hardly needed external aid to rise from the ruins of a fierce war.
However, the ambassador assured that Angola will always remember the assistance it got from some countries, UN special agencies and Non-Governmental Organisations.
