WINDHOEK, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador Xin Shunkang handed over three ambulances donated by Zhejiang province to Namibian Health Minister Richard Kamwi here on Tuesday.

The fully-equipped ambulances were funded by Zhejiang province after a delegation led by vice governor Huang Xuming visited Namibia in October last year. Three vehicles worth over 100,000 U. S. dollars in total were purchased locally in Namibia and face- lifted to be modern ambulances equipped with life-saving devices.

Receiving the vehicles, Kamwi expressed his gratitude and hope that China could continue to provide medical expertise and training programs for Namibian people.

Medical exchange between Namibia and Zhejiang started in 1996 when the province began to send doctors to work in Namibian hospitals.

Currently, four doctors are working at Katutura State Hospital in Namibian capital Windhoek, treating patients free of charge with traditional Chinese acupuncture and massage.
